Who is Covered Under Illinois Workmen’s Comp

In fact, any injury sustained while performing a work activity should be covered under the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act (See the Illinois Handbook on Workers’ Compensation and Occupational Diseases).
Under this act, a worker has certain rights and certain obligations. An injured worker in Illinois has the right to receive reasonable medical care to cure or relieve the effects of the injury.  You may also qualify for temporary total disability (TTD) benefits, temporary partial disability, vocational rehabilitation/maintenance benefits, permanent partial disability (PPD), permanent total disability (PTD), or, in case of a worker’s death, death benefits for surviving family members.  I can help you navigate through the specific obligations a worker has so you can receive the full benefits you need and deserve.
Employers with one employee are required to have workers’ compensation insurance. Any employee whose employment results in injury within Illinois is covered by Illinois’ Workmen’s Compensation Act even if the company is not located within Illinois. If your employer does not have the proper workers’ compensation insurance, you may still be able to recover workers’ compensation benefits from your employer or from a fund that has been set up for employees from uninsured employers.  Consulting a Workmen’s Compensation Attorney is extremely important in this situation.
If you are an employee who has suffered any injury caused in whole or part by your job, you should be covered by Workman’s Compensation but it is very important that you meet Illinois’ deadlines for reporting the injury and filing a workers’ compensation claim.  Having an experienced workers’ comp attorney to guide you through the forms and help you meet the deadlines can be very important.

The list above provides examples of violations that may result in suspension, revocation or cancellation of your Illinois Driver’s License.  The 2019 Illinois Rules of the Road has an even more complete list.
If you simply pay the fine, this counts as a conviction on your record and could easily result in increased insurance premiums and certainly will add to the points against your license.   Every person charged with a traffic violation has the right to be represented by an attorney and  I can help you achieve the best possible result when you appear in court…speeding tickets, construction zone tickets, seat belt violations, driving with a suspended license, moving violations.
